Catania have shot down reports that they could re-sign Juventus disappointment Jorge Martinez this summer.
There were suggestions that the Sicilian club could take Martinez back just a year after his €12m switch to Turin.
But, speaking to Sky Sport 24 on Thursday evening, Catania chief Pietro Lo Monaco insisted the player would not be returning.
"It's fantasy football," he stated. "The costs involved would not be sustainable as far as Catania are concerned.
"He's going through a strange time seeing as a year ago nobody considered him as a bluff player.
"He was just involved in a season affected by injuries, but he is a good player."
The attacking midfielder appeared in just 14 Serie A games for the Old Lady this term for a total of 563 minutes.
