Inter are reportedly very close to doing a deal with Sampdoria for the promising Andrea Poli.
According to the rumour mill on Monday, Nerazzurri transfer chief Marco Branca has been in talks with Doria over the weekend.
Poli was linked with Inter before Gian Piero Gasperini replaced Leonardo on the Nerazzurri bench on Friday, but it is understood that the new boss is a fan of Poli.
Branca has, according to reports, agreed a deal in principle with the Stadio Luigi Ferraris outfit.
Sampdoria, who were relegated from Serie A this term, rejected a bid from Cagliari last week for the 21-year-old.
It's unclear at this stage whether Inter will buy the player in a co-ownership deal or outright. The cost of the operation has also yet to be revealed.
