As Genoa confirm negotiations with Inter for Rodrigo Palacio, his replacement could be Juventus outcast Amauri.
On Friday President Enrico Preziosi announced he was in talks to sell Palacio to the Nerazzurri, but would only accept if Goran Pandev was included in an exchange.
According to Sky Sport Italia, there is another alternative, as Inter could provide cash to sign a suitable replacement.
The main candidate is Amauri, who spent the last six months on loan at Parma and was very impressive, regaining his fitness and form, but a return to Juve is unlikely.
Italy international of Brazilian origin Amauri is also of interest to Bologna.
Meanwhile, Genoa are also said to be in negotiations with West Bromwich Albion to loan goalkeeper Eduardo with an option to buy for €3m.
