Douglas Maicon insists he's not concerned about his waning status for Inter and Brazil. “We'll talk about Real Madrid after the Copa America.”
A year ago he was considered the best right-back in the world, but a poor campaign at San Siro has seen him probably drop to the bench for Brazil's opener against Venezuela.
“I do not consider myself a reserve or a first choice pick. I am simply one of 23 players at the disposal of the Coach, just like everyone else,” said Maicon in his Press conference.
Dani Alves has taken his place for the Seleçao, but Inter are also trying to bring in replacement Jonathan.
This is fuelling reports that Maicon will reunite with former Nerazzurri boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
“I am not worried by Jonathan and my role at Inter,” he responded tetchily to questions.
“We'll talk about Inter and Real Madrid after the Copa America. Right now I want to win another important trophy with the Seleçao.”
