Reports in Italy are gathering pace that Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi could move to Premiership side Manchester City.
Boss Roberto Mancini has previously admitted his interest in Lavezzi and a bid may be made given Carlos Tevez's likely departure from the club.
Giorgio De Giorgis, an agent and friend of Mancini, confirmed as much in an interview with Radio CRC today.
"City's interest in Lavezzi could be real," De Giorgis noted. "The two clubs have already been in contact with each other for a few months.
"City have spoken to Napoli about Lavezzi, but I do believe that their €31m valuation is excessive," he added.
"Napoli value him more than he is worth on the market because Ezequiel is so important to Walter Mazzarri's style of play.
"I don't know if a deal will be done, but I would be surprised to see Napoli making such radical changes to their team ahead of a campaign where they will be in the Champions League."
Napoli attacking midfielder Marek Hamsik is also at the centre of transfer speculation amid interest from champions Milan.
