Siena have officially signed Gaetano D'Agostino and Gabriele Angella from Udinese. “I accepted straight away.”
D'Agostino had been left in the lurch after the Friulani won a blind auction against Fiorentina to win his full ownership.
He underwent a medical on Friday and was presented to the media this weekend.
“I accepted Siena's offer straight away, because I had faith in the words of the director and President,” said the Italy international.
“It's not easy to complete negotiations for a transfer in one day, but that shows how much Siena valued my contribution.
“I feel good and want to get straight on to the field. I don't need to take revenge or anything, but just prove I am a useful player for this squad.
“My objective, and that of Siena, is to secure safety as quickly as possible. This is a solid club, so they have everything they need to be a success.”
Udinese also loaned defender Angella to Siena, as he is still co-owned by Serie B club Empoli.
“I am very happy to be at such an important side and proud to be alongside those who earned promotion last season,” said Angella.
“It's a great chance for me and I hope to play more consistently than I did at Udinese.”
