Cambiasso: 'We never had doubts'

Match-winner Esteban Cambiasso assures fans that “the team never had doubts on the potential of Inter.”

The Nerazzurri scraped a 1-0 victory over FC Twente this evening to secure their passage to the Champions League knockout phase.

“The team never had doubts on the potential of Inter,” the midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“This difficult moment was due to the many injuries that we have had to deal with, but now we are qualified.

“I hope this security of qualification can give us a more relaxed atmosphere while we wait for the others to recover.”

There had been reports Coach Rafa Benitez would be sacked if he failed to win tonight's game.

While mathematically qualified, Inter are still tied at the top of Group A with Tottenham following their 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen.

Spurs have the upper hand due to a superior goal record in direct confrontations.
