Antonio Nocerino will stay at Palermo for 2011-12 – even if the Italian international doesn't sign a new deal.
The midfielder is only contracted to the Stadio Barbera outfit until June 2012 which led to reports that he would either extend or be sold this summer.
However, owner Maurizio Zamparini seems willing to take the risk of possibly losing him at the end of the season on a free transfer.
"There is no renewal lined up for him at this moment in time," Zamparini stated. "He's our player and we'll see what happens between now and Christmas."
The Neapolitan, who joined the club as part of the deal that saw Amauri go to Juventus, has been linked with a variety of sides.
Genoa, Napoli and Fiorentina have all been paired, while it is claimed that Milan could be interested about a move next summer.
