Lazio have expressed an interest in signing Italy Under-21 international Fabio Borini from English giants Chelsea, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Edy Reja has repeatedly spoken of his desire to bring in another striker and boost his options up front, although it's thought he wants someone proven at the highest level.
Borini is out of contract at Chelsea in June and a number of Italian clubs are interested in luring him back to the peninsula despite the player's stated desire to remain in England.
Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta is reportedly keeping tabs on the 19-year-old who has debuted in the Premier League and the Champions League during his three years at Stamford Bridge.
Lazio are keen to focus on young talent and have already made inquiries about the possibility of taking their former academy starlet Federico Macheda back on loan from Manchester United.
Borini's height and the goalscoring prowess he has shown in the Chelsea reserves hasn't gone unnoticed and it's thought Lazio like the idea of signing him on a free.
Other targets like Cagliari striker Alessandro Matri would cost considerably more, although he does have a record of scoring lots of goals in Serie A.
