The chances of seeing David Trezeguet return to Serie A are getting smaller, his agent has suggested.
The Frenchman, 33, is available on a free transfer after rescinding his contract with Spanish club Hercules this summer.
He was heavily linked with a switch to Napoli, but Antonio Caliendo is not that optimistic of a Stadio San Paolo transfer.
"There is nothing new to report," Caliendo told TMW. "Something may happen by the end of the week though.
"We're looking out of the window to see what may occur and we are just waiting," continued the representative.
"As things stand, I can say that we are closer to playing abroad than a return to Italian football.
"Napoli? There have been no developments yet."
Trez spent a decade in Italy with Juventus following his 2000 switch from French outfit Monaco.
