Maicon to remain at Inter

Douglas Maicon is unlikely to be leaving Inter this summer despite the recent arrival of Jonathan.

Rumours again started to gather pace that Maicon could be sold with Real Madrid inevitably associated.

However, agent Antonio Caliendo has stated that the Brazilian international will remain a permanent fixture on Inter's right-flank in 2011-12.

"I don't think that he'll be leaving the Nerazzurri," he stated. "It all depends on President Massimo Moratti though.

"Unless there is an offer of real value made to Inter then I don't think that Moratti will be selling him."

The South American, 29, joined the Stadio Meazza outfit in 2006 from French side Monaco for around €6m.

Inter netted right-back Jonathan, full name Jonathan Cicero Moreira, from Santos earlier this month for an undisclosed fee.
