Ribas promises Genoa goals

Genoa's new striker Sebastian Ribas says the fans are in for a treat. “When I see the ball, I put it in the back of the net.”

The 23-year-old Uruguayan was raised in the Inter youth academy and was sold to French club Dijon in 2008, earning himself the top scorer title last season.

“President Enrico Preziosi has been tracking me for many years and wanted me even before I joined Inter,” he told Corriere Mercantile.

“Our paths didn't cross, but the moment I had the opportunity to come here, I took it. I've nothing to say to Inter, as I'll always be grateful to the club, but unfortunately it's very difficult for young players to find space in such a strong side.

“I feel ready for this new challenge and I'm not the slightest bit afraid of responsibility. There's a lot of competition at Genoa and that is a positive thing.

“I am accustomed to training hard all week and scoring goals at the weekend. I don't like to describe the kind of striker I am. I can only say that when I see the ball, I put it in the back of the net. That's it.”
