Director Pietro Lo Monaco is being linked with a move to Torino after he announced his intention to quit Catania.
The transfer guru has decided to walk away from the Serie A club after a breakdown in his relationship with President Antonino Pulvirenti.
The latter virtually issued Lo Monaco with an ultimatum after the official announced his intention to buy Salernitana.
"The President knew about my interest in Salernitana, but he said what he thought via the newspapers," Lo Monaco noted.
"He said that I was preparing an alternative for Catania. That makes me laugh. I've had offers in the past, but I turned them all down.
"I feel hurt as a man because I have always put Catania before everything else. My resignation is a must."
Lo Monaco added that he wouldn't instantly depart the Stadio Massimino outfit with the transfer window currently open.
