It's reported Fiorentina are close to agreeing a deal to bring Alberto Aquilani from Liverpool on loan thanks to his wage sacrifice.
The club has been in talks for over a week for the Italy midfielder, although his price-tag and wages have proved massive stumbling blocks.
According to the Corriere dello Sport this morning, director of sport Pantaleo Corvino has achieved a breakthrough.
Liverpool are ready to loan Aquilani out to Fiorentina, just as they did with Juventus last season, at a cost of €1m with an option to buy for €11m.
The difference here is that Aquilani has reportedly agreed to slash his wages to help the move go through.
He currently earns €3.6m per season, but Fiorentina are offering a five-year deal worth €2.2m per term.
It has been a busy few days for the Viola, who already signed Gianni Munari from Palermo and Andrea Lazzari from Cagliari.
They are also said to be in talks with Lazio for Sergio Floccari.
