Palombo commits to Doria

Angelo Palombo has again confirmed his desire to remain at Sampdoria. "I'll stay here until they chuck me out."

The club captain is wanted by numerous Serie A sides after the Marassi outfit's shock relegation from Serie A.

However, Palombo has told club officials that he wants to remain – even if it jeopardises his place at Euro 2012 with Italy.

"I had the opportunity to leave, but I didn't even think about it for a second," he told Sky Sport 24 on Monday.

"Now we just need to look forward to the future and, if they don't chuck me out, then I'll end my career here.

"The national side? I have spoken to Italy boss Cesare Prandelli and I hope to not lose my place, especially as players are picked on form."

Palombo, 29, joined Sampdoria in 2002 after three years in Tuscany with Fiorentina.
