He won the Russian title with Zenit and now Luciano Spalletti is cheering on his old club. “I would be very happy if Roma won the Scudetto.”
The Italian tactician came so close to conquering Serie A before he resigned a few weeks into last season.
He joined Zenit St Petersburg and has made it a first-time success by taking the title in Russia.
Spalletti has been repeatedly linked with a return to the Peninsula for the likes of Inter.
“At this moment I want to stay here in St Petersburg. I signed an important contract and I intend to respect it,” said the Coach to LaRoma24.it.
“I will return to Italy in future, but I don't think it will be to Roma, as they already have a great Coach on their bench.
“The Giallorossi can genuinely target the Scudetto thanks to important additions like Jeremy Menez and Marco Borriello.
“I left my heart in Rome and I would be very happy if they won the Scudetto.”
