'Roma must keep their heads up'

Philippe Mexes has told his Roma teammates to keep their heads up after last night's 3-1 defeat to Palermo.

The Giallorossi were given a harsh lesson in Sicily and slide to seventh place in Serie A.

Speaking to the Roma Channel, Mexes said: "We played well in the first half despite going behind.

"The goal made us lose a little confidence, but we have to lift our heads up again because we weren't a team.

"There are many things that need seeing again. It's everyone's fault."

Asked about Roma's troublesome away form, he said: "We won in Basel, but the stats says that we don't do well away from home.

"Once it was our strong point. We must do better.

"We won't give up on the Scudetto. We need to do better."
