Palermo insist “there are several clubs in talks for Javier Pastore, so Paris Saint-Germain are not the only interested side.”
The media in Italy and France are confident a deal worth €42m has been struck with PSG for Flaco.
Le Parisien even suggests he'll sign a five-year contract that will give him wages of €4.5m per season.
“Pastore's move to another club could happen today, tomorrow or over the next few days,” Vice-President Guglielmo Miccichè told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“There are several clubs currently in talks for Pastore, so Paris Saint-Germain are not the only interested side.
“However, I can deny we are in contact with Napoli for Pastore, at least right now.”
This leaves the door open for Chelsea, who are the other main contenders for the Argentine's signature.
Palermo's rapport with PSG is strong thanks to their director Leonardo and yesterday's decision to sell goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu to the French side.
“Seeking a replacement for Sirigu is not a primary objective right now. We'll see in the next few days if we need to find a new goalkeeper.”
The Sicilians will call for reinforcements after last night's 2-2 Europa League preliminary round draw against Swiss team Thun.
“There is some disappointment, as the side didn't perform that well. However, Palermo can go to Switzerland for the second leg and win. This season we are only a step behind Milan, Inter and Napoli.”
