Hamsik says no to Juve
Friday 6 November, 2009

Marek Hamsik has shot down the latest speculation linking him with a move to Juventus. “I’m staying at Napoli.”

The Slovakian has admirers in Turin and underlined his ability in last Saturday’s thriller at the Stadio Olimpico.

Two goals down to Juventus, Napoli hit back to win 3-2 thanks to a brace from the talented midfielder himself.

That inevitably saw his name associated with the Old Lady again, but he seems sure that he wants to remain at the San Paolo.

“A lot is being said about my two goals against Juventus and how it could have re-ignited their interest,” he noted.

“However, I am happy where I am now and I want to reconfirm myself with Napoli.”

Hamsik, 22, is Napoli’s top scorer in the championship so far this season with a scintillating seven goals.

That strike rate has alerted other clubs to his ability, such as Chelsea, but the Azzurri are also adamant that he is going nowhere.

“Marek has a contract until 2013,” noted President Aurelio De Laurentiis. “You can’t put a player like that on the transfer market.”
