Fiorentina will renew their interest in Angelo Palombo despite the latter committing his future to Sampdoria.
Palombo has been linked with a Marassi exit this summer following Doria's shock relegation from the top flight.
The Italian international recently made it clear that he was ready to stay in Serie B in order to fulfil his desire of ending his career in the Samp shirt.
Nevertheless, according to La Nazione, Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino will ask Sampdoria about their captain's availability.
Palombo, 29, joined Sampdoria in 2002 after three years in Tuscany with Fiorentina.
