Genoa will make a move for Antonio Cassano next week once he returns from Milan’s Italian Super Cup trip.
The Italian international’s future remains in doubt ahead of the 2012 European Championship.
With first team football at San Siro not guaranteed, there is a possibility that he could move on in order not to jeopardise his place in the Italy side.
The former Bari player has been linked with Fiorentina and Palermo so far this summer, but it seems that Genoa are keen.
Despite Cassano’s past at rivals Sampdoria – he left the club for Milan in January – Preziosi is dreaming of bringing him back to Marassi.
According to reports on Wednesday, Preziosi will meet with Cassano within the next 10 days to discuss the Genoa project and contract terms.
Milan have stated that they will be willing to sell the attacker should he ask for a transfer this summer.
Milan play Inter in the Italian Super Cup Final on Saturday afternoon in Beijing.
