Promotion chasing Serie B side Torino have admitted defeat in the race to sign Luca Cigarini of Napoli.
The Granata had publicly expressed an interest in the midfielder recently, but they aren’t confident of bringing him to Turin.
“His name has been mentioned, but I don’t think he will arrive,” Toro President Urbano Cairo commented.
“I don’t believe that the player wants to take a step down in Division.”
Cigarini is back at Napoli after spending last season on loan in Spain, where he played in just five League games for Sevilla.
The 25-year-old started his career at Parma before joining Atalanta in 2008. He signed for Napoli a year later.
