Chievo 'keeper Stefano Sorrentino has confirmed that he was wanted by both Juventus and Genoa during the summer.
Juve were looking for a Gigi Buffon replacement given his injury, while the Rossoblu needed a custodian to replace Milan-bound Marco Amelia after he failed to impress at Marassi.
"I was close to Genoa and Juventus in the summer," he noted. "But then everyone knows how it ended."
Juve eventually signed Marco Storari, while the Ferraris outfit went for Portugal international Eduardo.
Sorrentino thus remained at the Bentegodi and he's been rewarded for his efforts with a contract extension until 2013.
"I'm happy to continue playing for a club who rejected some important financial offers for me," he concluded.
