Corinthians striker Ronaldo has stepped up his efforts to lure Adriano back to Brazil by telling journalists that his friend is unhappy at Roma.
Ronaldo plans to play for one more year before retiring, but he would ideally like Adriano to succeed him at Corinthians.
Earlier this week, Adriano told Brazilian paper Extra that he has no intention of leaving Roma just yet, but feels Claudio Ranieri is ignoring him.
Adriano has played just 65 minutes in Serie A this season and is first team football hard to come by amid competitions from Francesco Totti, Mirko Vucinic and Marco Borriello.
"It's true," Ronaldo said. "I have spoken with Adriano and he has told me that he isn't happy in Rome. He would like to play, but he isn't being given the opportunity.
"It's a complicated situation and he must resolve it. If we were to manage it, his arrival at Corinthians would be a great signing.
"I perceived in him a certain desire to play here."
