It is now official that Cagliari have sacked Coach Roberto Donadoni and are expected to appoint Massimo Ficcadenti.
Reports were swirling around of big problems between the tactician and President Massimo Cellino today.
The club released an official statement after the friendly game against Arzachena.
“Cagliari Calcio announce Coach Roberto Donadoni and his staff, Luca Gotti, Giovanni Andreini and Paolo De Toffol, have been removed from their posts.
“The club thanks them for their work done so far and wishes them the best for the future of their careers.”
The statement does not mention Ficcadenti, but it's widely reported spokesman Sandro Angioni told journalists the decision on the new Coach had been made.
He will sign a one-year contract with an option on a second season.
Donadoni only joined Cagliari in November 2010 to replace the fired Pierpaolo Bisoli.
