Stevan Jovetic has suggested that he will put pen to paper on a new contract with Fiorentina.
The Montenegro international is tied to the club until 2013, but an extension seems to be on the horizon.
"I'm really happy in Florence," he stated. "My agent has talked to the club and negotiations will continue.
"Forward steps have been taken and I hope that there won't be any problems. There might be some news in the next few weeks."
While the Viola have spent the summer selling their biggest players, it seems that the young fantasista is their future.
"I'm aware of the club's project and I can't wait for the season to start," he continued.
Jovetic is eager to get back into action after a knee injury saw him miss all of the 2010-11 campaign.
"The injury has now been forgotten," he added. "I just need to get back into the rhythm of playing proper games now.
"I'm feeling good and I have a real desire to start playing. I miss scoring goals and creating assists, but they'll arrive "
