Lucio has promised Inter that he'll continue to make a vital contribution for the club after signing a new contract.
The Brazilian is now tied to the outfit until June 2014 after he was granted a two-year extension to his previous deal.
"I'm happy about the renewal and for the confidence that Inter have shown in me," the defender told Inter Channel.
"It's a mutual faith and one that I'll pay back as you'll see on the pitch. I'm really happy."
The former Bayern Munich ace is an untouchable in the side's starting XI and he's set to play a key role in boss Gian Piero Gasperini's 3-4-3 system.
"I cannot wait to begin the season and I'll do my best," he added. "Personally, I feel great. I'm in form and I hope to be that way for the whole season."
