Transfer negotiations between Anzhi, Inter and Samuel Eto'o will continue on Friday after talks stalled.
A deal was expected to be wrapped up this week, but problems have emerged just when it seemed an agreement was close.
"I'm not optimistic at this moment in time," the striker's agent, Peppino Tirri, stated on Thursday afternoon.
"There are a few things that need to be sorted out. Nothing has been resolved. The deal is on ice for now.
"Negotiations have come to an end for today, we'll talk again on Friday."
It's unclear at this time whether the problem exists between the two clubs or revolves around personal terms.
Some reports claim that a transfer fee of around €25m will be agreed, with the player being handed a three-year deal worth more than €15m a season.
Tirri held talks with Anzhi officials in a Milan hotel earlier today. He also dined with Inter technical director Marco Branca.
Eto'o was expected to have his Anzhi medical at Rome's Villa Stuart complex this afternoon, but that was postponed given the problems.
