Serie B side Sampdoria are very close to signing Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero, reports Sky Sport Italia.
Romero is currently in Holland with AZ Alkmaar and will be handed a four-year contract by the port outfit.
It's understood that the international custodian will cost the relegated Italian club around €3.5m.
Doria were defended by Gianluca Curci last term before he returned to Roma at the end of the campaign.
