Ezequiel Lavezzi can't wait for Napoli's friendly trip to Barcelona with good friend Leo Messi. “We'll compete for the Scudetto.”
The Partenopei will take part in the Gamper Trophy at the Nou Camp on Monday evening and it acts as a precursor to the Champions League.
“This game will help us understand how we are doing in the lead-up to the season. It's an important match and nobody wants to make a bad impression at the Nou Camp,” Lavezzi told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Do we fear a thrashing? No, I have confidence. Hopefully I can get a goal too.
“The Champions League will be an exciting competition. So many teams have reinforced this summer and that includes us.
“As for the Scudetto, there will be four or five teams battling for the title. The two Milan clubs, Lazio can be a surprise, Roma will fight to the end, Juventus have strengthened a great deal and of course there's Napoli.”
‘Pocho' has a special colleague to show him the ropes in Barcelona.
“I've known Messi since we were young kids and we have a great rapport. Leo will spend his entire career at Barcelona and I just can't see him in any other club.
“He has been compared to Diego Armando Maradona, but they have different personalities. Diego did unique things with a team far below the current Barcelona standard.”
