Cesare Bovo will reportedly join Genoa after his proposed move to Fiorentina fell through on the verge of completion.
The Palermo stopper was targeted by the Viola and talks had begun, but no agreement could be reached.
Bovo will now therefore join the Marassi outfit for the second time in his career after being made available for transfer.
The former Italian Under-21 international is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Grifone.
Bovo, 28, started his career in the Roma youth ranks and joined Palermo from Genoa in the summer of 2008.
Bovo is being sacrificed after the Rosanero completed their swoop of Catania stopper Matias Silvestre.
