“We're disappointed, but we gave all we possibly could. Perhaps even more,” said Udinese's Giampiero Pinzi.
The midfielder was a doubt to feature against Arsenal due to a stomach virus, but played in the 2-1 Champions League play-off defeat.
“We're disappointed, but we gave all we possibly could over the two legs. Perhaps even more than that,” Pinzi told RAI.
“The applause from the fans at the final whistle was a wonderful sensation and really moved us.
“We are sorry to go out, but must emerge from this defeat feeling stronger to have a great season.”
Having lost the play-off 3-1 on aggregate, Udinese go into the Europa League group phase.
