Diego Forlan will say goodbye to Atletico Madrid on Monday before flying out to join Inter, report La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Uruguayan will replace Samuel Eto'o in the Nerazzurri squad following his transfer to Russian outfit Anzhi.
Inter quickly reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid and the player, but the move was put on hold until the Spanish club and Forlan reached an economical deal between themselves.
The former Manchester United striker is expected to touch down in Milan at some point this evening.
Forlan will then just have to pass his medical before putting pen to paper on a two-year contract worth a minimum of €3.5m a season.
There are various financial bonus clauses inserted into his agreement, as well as the possibility of extending his stay for a further campaign.
