Sao Paulo have told Juventus that they will not be releasing Rhodolfo before the transfer window closes this week.
The Bianconeri had targeted the centre-back and were reportedly close to doing a deal with the Brazilian outfit.
However, Sao Paulo sporting director Adalberto Baptista has released an official statement on the club's website rejecting a sale.
"The club can exclude the possibility of any negotiations for Rhodolfo during this transfer session," he stated.
"I have already met with the player and I told him that he is very important to this squad.
"He is fundamental for us reaching our objectives. He understood and agreed to continue his adventure here."
Juventus are desperately looking to sign a new centre-back before the window closes on August 31.
Diego Lugano was targeted this summer too, but he's now left Fenerbahce for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
