Marco Parolo says he has no regrets about remaining at Cesena for the 2011-12 campaign.
The Italian international was expected to join a bigger club, but no transfer was agreed despite interest from numerous sides.
"If I'm here then it means that I'm happy here," the 26-year-old stated to Radio Sportiva. "This place has given me a lot and I owe them a lot.
"It seems that in order to move to a bigger club I'll just have to give even more than I did last season."
Cagliari made numerous offers for his services, but reaching an agreement proved impossible.
"They were the club who were closest to signing me," the midfielder continued. "Fiorentina were also keen, but then they bought other players instead.
"I could have gone to Cagliari, but they couldn't agree a fee with Cesena. Nevertheless, I'm happy to spend the next year here."
