Francesco Guidolin has urged Udinese to forget the Champions League exit to Arsenal. “Now we start the season all over again.”
The Friulani finished fourth in Serie A last term, but failed to reach the group phase of the Champions League after losing 3-1 on aggregate to the Gunners.
“We must forget about the past. We mustn't live on memories, even if we had a great campaign that culminated in fourth place,” said Coach Guidolin.
“Let us behave as if another squad achieved those heights. We've got to start from scratch and work hard. I'm not afraid of hard work.
“The only problem we could encounter at the moment is the fact international duty has taken so many players away from training with me, especially the newcomers. I've only ever seen Maximiliano Pereyra and Gabriel Torje play on DVD, though I have blind faith in our talent scouts.
“Now we start the season all over again. A very intense campaign awaits us and at the moment I have not made any decision on tactics. I give everyone the chance to earn their place in the squad.”
