Alberto Gilardino's agent was “astounded” by Fiorentina hints he already had a deal in place with Genoa.
The striker was long linked to a transfer over the summer and Genoa made it clear he was their number one target, but the Viola refused to sell.
Director of sport Pantaleo Corvino hinted this week that Gilardino might've had a pre-contract agreement with the Grifone.
“I was astounded to read what Corvino said about a supposed agreement, even a written one, between my client and Genoa,” said agent Giuseppe Bozzo.
“I am amazed that, considering how professional Gilardino is, someone could even think of such a thing. Even expecting us to deny such an absurd claim was pointless.
“I repeat what Alberto said from international duty with Italy, namely that he is happy to wear the Viola jersey and to stay in Florence.”
