Veteran Italian tactician Gigi Cagni has doubts over the ability of Inter new boy Mauro Zarate. "I don't think he's a champion."
The Argentine was sacrificed by Lazio over the summer after he failed to convince boss Edy Reja of his worth to the side.
He subsequently joined the Nerazzurri on loan for the new campaign, but Cagni suspects the forward is overrated by some.
"I don't think that Zarate can be defined as a champion," the former Empoli and Sampdoria tactician said.
"A champion is a mix between a great player and a great professional he's not that just yet.
"Reja is an expert Coach and if he gave up too on the talent of Zarate then it means he couldn't do anything more to get him back."
Although the majority of Lazio fans were angered by the decision to let go of the South American, Cagni thinks the capital club will have a good campaign.
"They have really improved the team on the transfer market," he added. "They are a side who will cause problems for everyone including Milan on Friday."
Serie A kicks off with the Rossoneri against the Biancocelesti on Friday evening.
