Aleksandar Kolarov has emerged as a target for Juventus after the club admitted they'll use the January transfer window.
The Bianconeri are in need of a left-back given that they have just Paolo De Ceglie and Fabio Grosso in the squad. Giorgio Chiellini can also be used in that position if needed.
Juve did sign Reto Ziegler from Sampdoria in the summer, but they then loaned him to Fenerbahce.
Kolarov was linked with the Turin giants in 2010, but the Serbian opted to join Manchester City from Lazio instead.
Juve are also set to bring in a central defender with a deal for Sao Paulo's Rhodolfo understood to be very close.
"We are not closing any doors as we will work on the transfer market in January too," director general Beppe Marotta told Sky Sport Italia on Sunday.
"For now we must evaluate the current squad along with our Coach.
"We tried to sign players who brought quality to the side, like Andrea Pirlo, Mirko Vucinic, Arturo Vidal, Eljero Elia and more.
"It is quite a homogenous squad, as everyone can be considered a first team player."
