Sergio ‘Kun' Aguero's agent admits Napoli has a “special place in his heart” as the club of father-in-law Diego Armando Maradona.
The Manchester City hitman had been linked with a move to the San Paolo over the summer and it's no wonder, as he is the son-in-law of Azzurri legend Maradona.
“Napoli have a special place in Aguero's heart,” confessed agent Bruno Satin on Radio CRC.
“Therefore, tomorrow's game will be special for him, also as it represents Napoli's return to the Champions League after 21 years.”
The last time the club was in the European Cup, their star player was Maradona, whose daughter Giannina is now Aguero's wife.
It is also a return to European football's elite for Manchester City, though their spending spree puts them in good stead.
“Manchester City are an incredible side full of champions who Roberto Mancini can rotate to his heart's content. Aguero always wants to play, of course, as he loves football and has fun on the pitch.
“City are one of the favourites to win the Champions League. Mancini wanted Aguero at all costs. He was expensive, but proved he has what it takes to make the difference with many goals and assists.
“It's true that we are looking at Napoli, because they are an important club with a glorious history behind them. In future there could well be an exchange of players, but for now Kun is happy at City.”
