Edy Reja has been working on “concentration” within the Lazio camp after a pair of 2-2 draws. “We'll take the initiative against Genoa.”
Over the past week the Biancocelesti have twice taken the lead against Milan and Vaslui only to emerge with stalemates.
“When you concede, one can always do better, so it's certainly not ideal to let in two goals per game,” said the Coach.
“We failed to close down the matches in the first half. The team is growing and we have confidence in defence, but are working to avoid these dips in concentration.
“It is a psychological issue rather than a physical one. We must understand that games are never over until the final whistle. The only way to achieve consistency over the 90 minutes is to continue playing official matches.”
Genoa also had a 2-2 draw in their Serie A opener against Atalanta, so goals are expected in Rome on Sunday afternoon.
“We know that Genoa will come to the Olimpico to take control, but that does not frighten us. We've got to take the initiative and, if possible, to win.”
