Maarten Stekelenburg reveals he “saw Lucio, then everything went black” when he was knocked unconscious.
The Roma goalkeeper rushed off his line and was accidentally kicked in the right temple during last night's 0-0 draw with Inter at San Siro.
“I don't remember anything,” the Dutchman was quoted as telling the Roma medical staff.
“I saw Lucio coming towards me, then everything went black. I hope to be back on the field as soon as possible.”
Details on what happened after the collision are hazy, as some reports state Stekelenburg was out for 10 minutes.
Other sources suggest he regained consciousness on the pitch, but after he was stretchered off with a neck brace, he fainted again in the locker room.
Taken to hospital for tests, he was kept in overnight for observation, but only required a couple of stitches.
However, there are also rumours this very dangerous clash could keep Stekelenburg out of action for up to a month.
