Reports in Italy are linking Roberto Baggio with a sensational return to Inter, to take over as Coach from an ailing Gian Piero Gasperini.
Mediaset are one of a number of outlets reporting that having seen Gasperini fail to win each of his first four official games in charge of the Nerazzurri, President Massimo Moratti is again considering his options.
It is understood Gasperini could be left in charge for the team's next game - Tuesday's trip to Novara - but that one of Claudio Ranieri, Delio Rossi and former Inter player Baggio could step in by the weekend.
Baggio obtained his second category UEFA A coaching licence over the summer, suggesting it is a direction he is looking to take his footballing career in.
Interestingly though, any deal to take the helm at San Siro would have to officially be categorised as on a caretaker basis - in a similar move to Devis Mangia's role at Palermo.
This is because Baggio's qualifications still fall below the Italian League's UEFA Pro Licence requirements for its professional Coaches.
His current licence permits him to work up to and including the third tier of the professional game in Italy.
