Francesco Guidolin is top of the table, but urges Udinese to “stay humble” when visiting “wounded lion” Milan on Wednesday night.
The Friulani are already five points clear of the reigning champions and go head-to-head at San Siro in a game that ended 4-4 last season.
“It is very difficult for Milan to get two games wrong in a row, so we are certain they'll be very concentrated and fired up after the defeat to Napoli,” warned the Coach.
“We expect them to react with pride, class, temperament and the spirit of a top club. We'll be facing a wounded lion, who dominated in Naples for the opening 20 minutes.
“As for us, we'll have to rely on every weapon we've got. I want to see a spirit of sacrifice from everyone, paying attention to each little detail. We are still a work in progress and I haven't got to know all the lads yet, so it is too early to judge this team. I just want to get to 40 points as soon as possible.”
Udinese are already on the way, having notched up three consecutive victories between Serie A and the Europa League, while they still have a clean sheet domestically.
“I hope the team has listened to my message: ‘Fly low and go to San Siro with great humility.' Then we'll get the response on the pitch.”
