Genoa star Rodrigo Palacio received a surprise call-up for Argentina's World Cup qualifiers, but Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso are dropped.
Palacio has impressed so far this season, scoring three goals, and made his way into new tactician Alejandro Sabella's squad list.
Argentina will play Chile and Venezuela on October 7 and 11 for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
However, Inter's poor form appears to have dragged across the globe, because Diego Milito, Walter Samuel, Zanetti and Cambiasso are not included.
Ezequiel Lavezzi is also left behind, although this probably has more to do with Napoli's packed fixture list and his recent injury.
The only Nerazzurri player to be included is Ricky Alvarez, who has struggled to get even a substitute appearance at San Siro.
