Daniele Conti will match the club record of 328 Cagliari appearances on Sunday. “This club is a faith.”
The midfielder made his debut on August 29, 1999 and against Udinese is set to equal Mario Brugnera's total games for the side.
“This is a special jersey and by now it is glued to me,” said the 32-year-old son of Roma and Italy legend Bruno Conti.
“When I first arrived at Cagliari, I was convinced that I'd stay for one or two seasons at most. I never imagined it would be like this.
“I am proud and honoured to reach this achievement, as it's a dream come true and gives me goosebumps to think of it.
“Cagliari are my life. This club is a faith.”
