Massimo Ambrosini could return for Milan's match with Viktoria Plzen, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho and Kevin-Prince Boateng are still out.
Massimiliano Allegri has a genuine injury crisis on his hands, missing the likes of Gennaro Gattuso, Mathieu Flamini, Philippe Mexes, Daniele Bonera and Luca Antonini.
He has only two fully-fit strikers available right now, the increasingly tired Antonio Cassano and teenager Stephan El Shaarawy, while Pippo Inzaghi was left off the UEFA list.
It is reported Ambrosini could be ready to make his comeback after picking up an injury in the 2-2 draw with Barcelona.
However, Ibrahimovic, Boateng and Robinho still look set to miss out after failing to take part in full training today.
It is believed Ibra and Boateng hope to be back in time for next weekend's Serie A showdown with Juventus.
