Walter Mazzarri believes Napoli will still be strong when facing Inter at the weekend even if it is without Edinson Cavani.
The Azzurri Coach has insisted that the team will find a suitable plan B for the trip to San Siro, should their No 7 striker not be passed fit.
Cavani picked up a sprained ankle against Villarreal on Tuesday, but reports indicate he could return on Saturday.
"If there is no Cavani we remain hopeful that those who come in will rise to the task.. We can replace him with another striker, or play less offensive. You have to assess what may well be the most suitable player.
"I am convinced that we will do well in Milan. Do not forget though that we face a team with high technical attributes that is now compact, getting two wins from two since [Claudio] Ranieri revitalised them.
"The President expects a lot from [Goran] Pandev? Let's see if he plays. The player is growing up, did well to play the whole game at Chievo. He may not make the full 90 [on Saturday] but could be important to us.
"We will try with [Salvatore] Aronica and Cavani today and until the last moment.
Mazzarri also defended recent team selections that amongst other things were blamed for the team's recent defeat to Chievo.
"These choices are not meant as a snub, or that the Champions league is a priority. We try to perform in all the competitions the best of our ability.
"If I choose to sacrifice something in the League, it is to avoid a fall in a competition like the Champions League where you have all the best, and to safeguard the name of Napoli in Europe."
