Giorgio Chiellini tells Juventus how to approach Sunday's showdown with Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “It's a team effort.”
The Serie A leaders welcome the reigning champions to Turin tomorrow evening and Chiellini has to mark his former teammate.
“When you face someone as talented as Ibrahimovic, keeping him quiet is a team effort and not just marking on an individual level,” he told Juventus Channel.
“The same way we stopped Sebastian Giovinco when playing Parma, we have to make some slight adjustments all across the board. It will be nice to challenge a champion Like Ibra.
“As the days go by, the excitement about this game is growing and we're eager to prove we can compete for the Scudetto. Serie A is more balanced now with Napoli, Inter and Milan the best constructed sides, but the Rossoneri remain the favourites for me.”
Chiellini has been among the most heavily-criticised players in these first few months of the new Juventus.
“It is only normal that some things can happen when you play at a certain level. The secret is to keep working and isolate yourself from this chatter. I have been at Juventus for seven years, I have this jersey in my heart and I think fans understand that every time I step on the field.”
