Christian Maggio is close to signing a new contract with Serie A giants Napoli, his agent has suggested.
The wing-back is only tied to the Stadio San Paolo outfit until June 2013, but it seems as if he'll soon commit his long-term future to the outfit.
"I spoke with director general Riccardo Bigon about 10 days ago," representative Massimo Briaschi told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"The signs are good. We are heading towards a positive conclusion, but we'll just have to see what happens.
"Christian has been playing at high levels for the past few years now. He is an important player for this club."
Maggio, currently on international duty with Italy, joined the Stadio San Paolo outfit in June 2008 after two seasons at Sampdoria.
The 29-year-old scored in Saturday's 3-0 win at Inter on Saturday.
